About Us

Saving Lives, One by One

A Word from the RCHS Board of Directors:

According to the American Humane Association, nearly 10 million animals are euthanized annually in the United States. That's 833,333 every month- 208,333 every week - 27,778 each day - 1,157 every hour! Or...think of it this way - 19 companion animals are put to sleep every minute of every hour of every day each year.  We know we don’t like those odds at all, and at RCHS that will never happen as long as we continue to do our part and spread the word and take a stand against the breeding that runs wild in every county, city and community.  PLEASE SPAY & NEUTER, it’s not that expensive, and there are programs that will help. PLEASE do your part! Spread the news that animals are dying needlessly and WE CAN CHANGE THE ODDS, WE JUST HAVE TO FIGHT A LITTLE HARDER and TAKE A STAND!

Donations are always needed, and appreciated! Puppy and kitten season begins every spring, and the cycle begins anew.

Donate to the Randolph County Humane Society

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we rely on donations alone to care for the animals that hav no family or are thrown away much as trash in the streets.  The organization operates under the direction of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.  The organization operates exclusively through the donation of the time and effort of volunteers except for one paid position of Kennel Manager.  The Kennel Manager reports to the President and the Executive Committee on all items pertaining to the upkeep of the shelter and the work of the volunteers that maintain the shelter.

Although we are very conservative with our budget and our spending, our average operating expenses are +$4,800 per month.  Each month we operate on a wing and a prayer that there won’t be any breakdowns and with the economy in the tailspin as it has been in over the past three years there are many months when we are left to wonder where we are going to get the money to insure the animals will get the much needed shots and medical treatment they will need to be adopted into their forever homes or make the transports out to other shelters in order to save more animals.
